Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 will launch for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2 and PC on 23 October 2026, according to Pure Xbox. Those who pre‑ordered a digital edition can start the campaign on 16 October; Pure Xbox reports the campaign goes live at midnight local time, while Nintendo Life says it starts at 10 am PT. The DMZ extraction mode follows on 20 October, with Pure Xbox citing a 9 pm PDT start time and Nintendo Life giving 10 am PT. All players receive the full multiplayer suite from the launch day.
Early access is available only to players who pre‑ordered a digital copy. In addition to early access, Pure Xbox notes that digital pre‑orders also grant the Hunter Killer Operator skin and the Inner Circuit M4 weapon blueprint. Nintendo Life confirms that the campaign and DMZ early access applies to all platforms, including the Switch 2 code‑in‑the‑box release.
Shipment is a small, intense arena that has been a fan favourite since Call of Duty 4.
A pre‑install version is also available for download ahead of launch.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 will not be available on Xbox Game Pass on launch day; Pure Xbox reports the title will be added roughly a year later, likely in the holiday season of 2027.
The title can be played on Xbox One via cloud gaming, provided a stable internet connection, as stated by Pure Xbox.
