Japanese publishers announced a slate of new games this week that span consoles and PC. The headline titles include Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4, Final Fantasy Resonance, Nintendo Switch Sports Resort, and Stupid Never Dies. The releases are available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, Nintendo Switch 2, Switch, and PC, with several titles also coming to iOS and Android.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 brings a darker narrative set in South Korea, following a young squad fighting on the front lines and Captain Price on a covert mission. IGN reported the Switch 2 version runs at 30fps in 4K for the campaign and aims for 60fps in multiplayer, with a small visual downgrade to keep performance smooth. The game is also released for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series and PC.
Final Fantasy and Switch Sports
Final Fantasy Resonance is the first HD‑2D entry in the franchise, offering classic elements such as airships, moogles and a traditional storyline. Nintendo Switch Sports Resort adds a new island to explore, 12 sports, and online play, and some activities use the Joy‑Con’s mouse mode. Both titles are available on Switch 2, Switch, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series and PC.
Other titles launched this week include Stupid Never Dies, BeamNG.drive, Mycopunk, Cotton Reboot, and Back to the Dawn on PlayStation 5. The list also covers games for Xbox Series, Switch 2, PC, iOS, and Android such as Demons’ Night Fever, PEAK, and One Piece: Grand Gourmet. The Japanese PlayStation Network and Nintendo eShop allow purchases with prepaid cards in various denominations.
