China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) has filed the next‑generation BYD Han sedan with four powertrain options: three all‑electric (245 kW, 300 kW, and 520 kW all‑wheel‑drive) and one plug‑in hybrid that combines a 1.5‑litre turbocharged petrol engine with a 200 kW electric motor. Spy images show the car in camouflage paint and a roof‑mounted LiDAR unit. The homologated dimensions place the new model longer than the Han L in both length and wheelbase.
The new Han is 5,156 mm long, 1,969 mm wide, and 3,030 mm wheelbase. Height ranges from 1,492 mm to 1,507 mm. It is 106 mm longer than the Han L and 60 mm longer in wheelbase, while the Da Han sits 100 mm longer and 100 mm longer overall.
Vehicle dimensions
All three all‑electric variants use BYD’s FinDreams Blade lithium‑iron‑phosphate batteries. The 245‑kW model weighs 2,005 kg and can reach 240 km/h. The 300‑kW version weighs 2,125 kg and also tops 240 km/h. The 520‑kW all‑wheel‑drive version pairs a 200‑kW front AC asynchronous motor with a 320‑kW rear permanent‑magnet motor, weighs 2,351 kg and reaches 270 km/h. The plug‑in hybrid uses a 1.5‑litre turbocharged petrol engine producing 115 kW and a 200‑kW electric motor, weighs 2,115 kg and tops 200 km/h. Each configuration includes Bosch integrated power brake and event data recorder, and the vehicle is assembled in Xi’an and Changzhou.
