BYD has revealed a new flagship electric SUV called the ATTO 8 at the 2026 Paris Auto Show. This large seven-seat model sits above other models in its expanding lineup and targets families looking for space without losing range. It is scheduled to arrive in European markets during the first quarter of 2027.
The vehicle features a new FLASH Charging system that charges the battery from ten to ninety-seven percent in nine minutes. BYD officials say this makes it the brand’s first car with flash charging technology available in Europe. They also note that cold weather conditions can extend the time by three minutes.
Buyers can choose between rear-wheel-drive and all-wheel-drive versions powered by a 115-kWh battery. The entry-level rear-wheel-drive model accelerates from zero to sixty-two miles per hour in eight seconds. The top-tier all-wheel-drive variant boosts power for a four-point-six second sprint to the same speed.
Inside, the cabin offers premium materials and three rows of seating with adjustable headrests. A large panoramic glass roof brings natural light into the space while a front trunk provides extra storage for smaller items. Folding the rear seats increases cargo capacity significantly for long trips or hauling loads.
Pricing details have not yet been announced for European customers despite reports from China showing different price points domestically. One report notes that current seven-seater models in Germany cost around forty-seven thousand euros locally. European sales are expected to begin in the first quarter of 2027.
Plans to expand the charging network vary between reported figures with one outlet citing three thousand stations for Europe. Another source claims the target is six thousand flash chargers across foreign countries by the end of 2027. The scale and availability of this infrastructure will determine how easily drivers can use the fast-charging technology in practice.
