The BYD Shark 6 received a five‑star safety rating from Euro NCAP, scoring 86 % for child occupant protection, 87 % for safety assist, 82 % for adult occupant protection and 74 % for vulnerable road user protection. The assessment included frontal‑offset, full‑width frontal and side‑impact tests, and praised the vehicle’s child‑presence detection system, autonomous emergency braking that reacted to cyclists and motorcyclists, lane‑departure support and speed‑assistance technology. CarMag noted that the agency now rewards well‑placed physical switches for basic functions, a factor that helped the Shark 6, along with the Audi Q7, achieve its full‑mark rating.

Powertrain and range details

With a full charge and fuel tank, the Shark 6 can travel up to 419 miles.

In the UK the Shark 6 is priced at £47,295 (including VAT) and offers a double‑cab with seating for five, vegan‑leather upholstery, heated and ventilated seats, a 12‑speaker Dynaudio system and a 15.6‑inch infotainment touchscreen. It also features a 360‑degree camera, V2L power output and a wireless smartphone charger. BYD Executive Vice President Stella Li said the rating demonstrates how the company’s research and development translates into practical safety benefits for customers. The result marks BYD’s ninth five‑star rating since its 2022 entry into the European passenger‑car market, joining models such as the Dolphin Surf, Dolphin, Seal and Seal U DM‑i.
