At the 2026 Paris Motor Show, BYD’s premium brand Denza announced that its Z9 GT would receive the God’s Eye City Navigation on Driving Assistant (CNOA) system in Europe in 2027. Executive Vice President Stella Li said the vehicle already contains the hardware needed, while the software is being calibrated and adapted to European roads and regulations. This expands the Z9 GT’s driver‑assist capabilities into complex urban environments.
City‑navigation features
CNOA is a Level 2 driver‑assist system that guides drivers from one destination to another and helps with everyday city maneuvers. It can stop at red lights, read speed‑limit signs, yield at roundabouts, make left turns, navigate intersections, and change lanes around slow or double‑parked cars. The system also detects vulnerable road users such as pedestrians and cyclists, and responds appropriately in narrow streets, making the Z9 GT appealing to drivers who face congested roads and complicated junctions.
The Z9 GT’s hardware includes one LiDAR sensor, eleven cameras, three millimeter‑wave radar units and twelve ultrasonic sensors, giving detailed data on surrounding vehicles and road layouts. Before sale in Europe, the system must finish calibration, obtain type approval under UN Regulation No 171, and add driver‑monitoring functions that track eye gaze, head position and steering‑wheel hand placement. BYD will deliver the feature via an over‑the‑air update in 2027, so owners with the required hardware will receive it without extra hardware installation.
