The 2027 BMW X3 M50 xDrive now has 437 horsepower, 44 more than the 393-horsepower 2026 model. The turbocharged 3.0-liter inline-six is unchanged, but a revised exhaust gives it a deeper, more resonant sound. The upgrade lets the SUV go from 0 to 60 mph in 4.3 seconds, or four seconds flat with a one-foot rollout. European buyers have had the power boost for weeks, and U.S. buyers now get it too.

Black Package Adds Darker Style

Alongside the performance gain, BMW introduced a new optional Black Package for the M50. The package adds 22-inch Jet Black wheels, black M Sport brake calipers, and gloss-black exterior badges with silver outlines. Inside, it darkens the dashboard, center console, door trim and wireless-charger area with black Alcantara, adds blue stitching to the seats, and puts M colors on the seatbelts and floor mats. It also includes a black M steering wheel with a different leather air-bag cover. The Black Package costs $3,800 in the United States and does not add horsepower.

All 2027 X3 models, not just the M50, get interior updates starting in December 2026. A new PVC Softskin surface appears ahead of the central display, and ambient lighting is added to the center-console storage compartment and interior door handles. The glove-box opener is redesigned, and stainless-steel cargo-sill protectors are fitted. The interior changes are minor and do not affect performance.

The 2027 X3 M50 xDrive starts at $67,500 in the United States, plus a $1,350 destination charge, for $68,850 before options. Adding the Black Package raises the total to $72,650.
