Bloodborne achieves over 200 FPS on PC

An unofficial PC port with NVIDIA DLSS frame generation lets the PlayStation 4 title hit more than 200 frames per second at 1080p, proving that modern hardware can vastly outperform the console's 30‑fps limit.

An unofficial PC port of FromSoftware’s Bloodborne, built on the shadPS4 emulator and created by Super Medo, lets the game run at more than 200 frames per second on an RTX 4070. At native 4K with DLAA the port averages about 40 FPS, but using NVIDIA DLSS in Quality mode pushes the performance into the 100s FPS range, while DLSS Performance mode delivers between 120 and 130 FPS. At 1440p the game stabilises around 130 FPS, and at the 1080p resolution that matches the PlayStation 4 version it can reach roughly 220 FPS, surpassing the 200‑FPS mark by a wide margin.

Performance details

The original Bloodborne runs at only 30 FPS on the PlayStation 4 and suffers from inconsistent frame pacing. The PC demonstration shows how modern hardware and image‑generation technologies such as DLSS frame generation can dramatically increase performance, illustrating that the title’s limitations on the console are not a hardware ceiling but an engine constraint. Community developers are also exploring path‑tracing support, further widening the gap between the official console version and the unofficial PC build.

FromSoftware is currently focusing on new projects, including the Nintendo Switch 2 exclusive The Duskbloods, and there is no indication that an official PC port or PlayStation 5 update is in the works. Nevertheless, the high frame rates achieved by the community port demonstrate the potential for Bloodborne to run far beyond its console limits and highlight the role of fan‑made projects in extending a game’s technical reach.
