The Aston Martin Valhalla has been revealed in a convertible form, capable of reaching 217 mph with the roof off. With the removable soft cloth top fitted, top speed is capped at 124 mph.

Power and performance

The Spider keeps the same twin-turbo 4.0-litre V8 and plug-in hybrid powertrain, which delivers 1,064 hp and 811 lb-ft of torque. Three electric motors and a 6.1-kWh battery give 8.7 miles of pure-electric range, and the car can accelerate from 0-60 mph in 2.5 seconds.

Compared with the coupe, the Spider has a taller intake snorkel, a clip-in wind deflector that folds into the sill cubbies, and a revised electronic stability program and active aerodynamics. Its carbon-fiber dihedral doors have been tuned for smoother operation, and a standard touring seat is fitted, with the coupe's carbon bucket seat available at no extra cost.

The roof is removable: a soft cloth can be rolled up and stored inside the car, while a carbon-fiber hardtop is available but is not stowable. A sensor detects whether the roof is on or off, limiting the top speed to 124 mph when the soft top is fitted.

The Spider will make its debut at the 2026 Concours at Wynn Las Vegas. Pricing has not yet been announced, but the coupe starts at $1,051,700. The Spider is described as a direct rival to Ferrari's 849 Testarossa Spider.
