Apple’s American Manufacturing Program has added new partners for the iPhone Duo and iPhone 18 Pro. The company will invest up to $100 million over three years with Pennsylvania‑based Perryman to supply titanium enclosures for the Duo. It also expanded its partnership with Delaware‑based Qnity Electronics, which will produce advanced films needed for the 18 Pro’s variable‑aperture camera system.
Broadcom is modernizing its Fort Collins, Colorado, plant as part of a $1.5 billion investment, with the goal of producing more than 15 billion US‑made chips. Corning’s facility in Harrodsburg, Kentucky, will make specialty glass, including Ceramic Shield, for all iPhones and Apple Watches sold worldwide by the end of the year. Coherent will supply vertical‑cavity surface‑emitting laser technology for Face ID and the redesigned Dynamic Island on the 18 Pro and 18 Pro Max. TSMC’s Arizona fab will produce over 100 million chips for Apple this year, while Amkor Technology’s new packaging and test plant in Peoria, Arizona, will be among the first to serve Apple.
Every direct supplier must power its manufacturing with renewable energy by the end of the decade, as part of Apple’s goal of carbon neutrality across its footprint by 2030. The American Manufacturing Program is a $600 billion, four‑year commitment announced last August.
Apple’s chief operating officer Sabih Khan said the company is proud to work with Perryman and Qnity and to support U.S. jobs. The program comes as the new iPhone Duo has seen extraordinary demand and long shipping times. Apple says bringing more production to the US could improve its supply chain and serve as good PR for the company.
