Apple and Nvidia each pledged $25 million toward the construction of a new 90,000‑square‑foot ballroom at the White House, according to a donor list obtained by The Washington Post. The donors made up about 30 percent of the $333 million in private contributions that have been reported for the project. Other companies on the list include Microsoft, Comcast, Amazon, Cisco, Meta, T‑Mobile, HP, Google, Palantir, Salesforce and Micron, with amounts ranging from $1 million to $22 million.
The ballroom, which is planned to seat 1,000 guests, has an estimated construction cost of roughly $600 million, with more than half of the money expected to come from taxpayer funds. The Trump administration is collecting the donations through a nonprofit and moving the money into a White House account controlled by the president. A White House spokesperson said the administration will "relentlessly pursue those responsible" for the leaked donor list.
