Acura announced a new product roadmap that will bring three new SUVs and a hybrid V‑6 powertrain to its lineup. The first new model, an adventure‑ready SUV, is slated for early 2028. An 8‑passenger SUV, Acura’s largest to date, will also arrive that year and will be positioned above the current 7‑passenger MDX, while a hybrid‑equipped RDX is expected to follow the same schedule.

New hybrid options will debut on the MDX and the RDX. The MDX will receive a hybrid V‑6 powertrain that promises better towing capacity, improved performance and higher fuel economy. The RDX will be the first Acura to use a two‑motor hybrid system, giving the compact SUV a stronger position in the competitive market.
Acura’s roadmap comes as the brand’s catalog has narrowed in recent years, and sales grew 4.4% through the first three quarters of 2025. CEO Eiji Fujimura said the changes aim to meet customers at all life stages and address gaps such as the lack of hybrids and a 3‑row SUV. No electric vehicle is on the near‑term roadmap, leaving the brand’s electrification strategy in limbo.
