The horror point‑and‑click adventure 1999TOKOYO Building has released a free demo on Steam, giving players a preview of the first chapter before the game’s official launch on November 9, 2026.
Set inside the dilapidated TOKOYO Building, a run‑down indoor amusement park surrounded by a massive water tank, the game places the protagonist Akira inside a facility that has a reputation for making people disappear while still operating with a small team of employees.
Gameplay revolves around breaking into private rooms, picking locks, and sneaking past coworkers, with the player gathering information that can help build relationships or risk a game‑over if the characters become upset.
The title is the debut project of Tokoyo Estate Co., Ltd., a three‑person Japanese studio, and its soundtrack was composed by Yasuhiro Nakashima, who previously worked on the visual novel Roger; the demo contains about two hours of content and is also featured during Steam Next Fest.
