IO Interactive has set a firm release date for 007 First Light on the Nintendo Switch 2: March 18, 2027. Pre‑orders are now available and buyers receive the iconic GoldenEye suit as a special bonus. A new trailer released alongside the announcement gives the first full look at the Switch 2 version of the game.
The game follows a young James Bond as he joins MI6’s Double 0 program, discovering the origins of his legendary career. After a daring act he is recruited to prevent a rogue agent’s plot, and must partner with his mentor Greenway to stop a looming coup. Players experience a cinematic espionage adventure in breathtaking locations, with a choice between silent or loud approaches.
Switch 2 players will receive the Deluxe Edition, which includes four exclusive suits, the Gleaming Pack with four gadget skins, and the Agent’s Mark weapon skin. The release is noted to make minimal performance sacrifices, though the resolution has been reduced compared to earlier platforms.
The original release on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, and PC came out on May 27, 2026, and it already includes features such as New Game+, 00 Difficulty, two new TacSim missions, new weapons, and a Photo Mode.
Future content is in the works, with a new story mission featuring the character Bawma announced for the Switch 2 version.
